No! - Not This Time

This page has been put together specifically by the people of the No! – Not This Time Campaign Group. Grassmoor's campaign group who successfully fought against Derbyshire County Council plans to build a 40,000 tonnes in-vessel composting facility, and the relocation of the Highways Depot to the village. This page documents the struggle on behalf of the Grassmoor people, Wingerworth people also campaigned against the plans .

Councillor Betty Hill, Grassmoor led a passionate and dedicated team who worked hard to maintain the welfare of Grassmoor villagers.

The following pictures show a similar facility at Edmonton:

this shows the maturation area, notice the litter and the size of the piles - Remember Grassmoor will be 10,000 tonnes bigger. This area typically smells the worst.
this shows the maturation area notice the size, the steaming pollution and the crows.
this shows the raspberry sprays going to keep smells down ! - Remember they know this plant will smell and pollute
this shows the reception hall. Notice the building sizer and there is no kitchen waste. They know it makes it smellier !

Although this campaign was heavily Grassmoor orientated and led, we welcomed support from other neighbouring communities, (listed in no particular order) such as :

Wingerworth

Hasland

Corbriggs

Temple Normanton

Tupton

Winsick

Churchside

There were 15 people who fronted up the campaign group, all were representatives from various demographics within the community.
